Grandma Kim Basinger, 69, Welcomes First Grandkid with Alec Baldwin after Baby Shower That Mortified Her

Ireland Baldwin is officially a mother. Ireland and her boyfriend RAC, born André Allen Anjos, welcomed their first child, a girl.

The daughter of “The Edge” actor Alec Baldwin and “The Getaway” actress Kim Basinger announced the thrilling news on Instagram on May 18, 2023.

She shared a photo on the hospital bed holding her baby girl. RAC, who was also in the picture, leaned into his daughter and girlfriend.

The “Campus Caller” actress and her boyfriend were all smiles in the photo captioned “Holland,” — the name of their baby girl.

Besides her new title as a mom, Ireland, 27, is a business owner, screenwriter, and animal lover. She is also Hailey Biebers cousin.

The former actress left her life in Hollywood, where she was a DJ and model, and moved to the Oregon coast. There, she founded a café, boutique, and wine bar named Good Times. The “Grudge Match” actress now runs her business with RAC, who is also a musician.

The screenwriter and her boyfriend met through Instagram in 2020, became friends, got into a relationship, and have now begun their parenting journey together.

Ireland recently revealed via the “Girlboss Radio” podcast that she moved from Los Angeles to the Oregon coast because she wanted to make her ex-boyfriend happy.

She also noted that she left modeling because she never enjoyed or loved it. As per Ireland, she only got into modeling because it paid well. She also revealed that while she was passionate about acting, she was awful at it. She confessed:

“I am not a good actress. You can ask any casting director that I blessed them with my auditions.”

After many attempts at finding the right career path, Ireland settled for screenwriting. She said she has always loved writing, and screenwriting was a self-taught skill. “Thats all I wanna do, create these worlds and stories,” she shared.

Being the daughter of famous actors, she said that her background made it easy for people to push her into modeling and acting, careers she never liked.

The screenwriter recalled that her mother watched her and her boyfriend get lap dances from eight strippers on the stage.

Irelands Close Relationship with Her Parents

Alec and Kim were married from 1993 to 2002, and they had their daughter in 1995. Unfortunately, they divorced when Ireland was seven.

Ireland went through a hard time when her parents divorced, as their split was not drama-free. The mother of one found herself at the center of controversy when her fathers voicemail to her leaked. In the voicemail, Alec called her “a rude, thoughtless little pig.”

Alec lost his visitation rights temporarily when the voicemail leaked, but he defended himself by saying those were words of frustration.

Ireland also came to her fathers defense claiming people blew the content of the voicemail out of proportion:

“Hes said stuff like that before just because hes frustrated. For me, it was like, OK, whatever. I called him back. I was like, Sorry, Dad, I didnt have my phone. That was it.”

Likewise, she supported her father when Alec accidentally shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of “Rust.”

Kim also spoke out concerning her ex-husband and acknowledged that they didnt always see eye to eye when it came to co-parenting:

“Weve had our challenges. And I dont think Alec was emotionally or mentally available for that kind of talk.”

The “Batman” star admitted that divorce was hard on children and she had to raise Ireland in an unconventional way because of the divorce:

“I just wanted her to be free. If she wanted to have her friends over and write over the walls with [a] pen, that was fine. I wanted her childhood to be full of love and light and animals and friends.”

Kim and her daughter have a close relationship. Kim revealed that it was Ireland who convinced her to take up her role in “Fifty Shades Darker” because she wasnt sure she wanted to star in a movie with “dominatrix stuff.”

The “Cellular” actress said her daughter told her, “You have to do it, Mom, its really powerful for women. Your character is about a womans power.” Kim ended up starring in the movie.

Despite a rough past, Kim said they were now okay, and they all got along as a family. Ireland has also developed a close relationship with her blended family, made up of Alecs seven children and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin.

According to Ireland, she and Hilaria are very close. In fact, she views Hilaria as her big sister. “We joke around, and I call her Mom. But I respect her…” she added.

Hilaria also said she has a great relationship with Ireland and called her “so smart, so funny, she just is a special soul.”

Ireland and her family are so close she thanked them for supporting her when she sought treatment for her emotional trauma in April 2015. She said her parents and her entire blended family never left her side during this challenging time.

Irelands mother was also present recently when the actress threw a scandalous baby shower. Kim came to support her daughter despite the unconventionality of the event.

Irelands Scandalous Baby Shower

To celebrate her pregnancy, Ireland threw a strip-club-themed baby shower, which left her mother “totally mortified,” according to her. The screenwriter revealed that her mother hid in the corner drinking white wine all the while she was at the baby shower.

Speaking on Emily Ratajkowskis podcast, “High Low,” Ireland said she never wanted to throw a conventional baby shower:

“I hate attention. I hate sitting in a circle and opening presents, and talking to a bunch of people just didnt seem ideal. So, I thought, why not a strip club where everyone would be rather distracted?”

Irelands baby shower was held at Jumbos Clown Room in Los Angeles. She recalled how her mother watched her and her boyfriend get lap dances from eight strippers on the stage.

She said she felt like Kim was wondering, “What is happening right now?” because her mother did not expect to attend such an unconventional baby shower.

Her mother was, however, only one of many who were shocked by the idea of a strip club-themed baby shower. One person said, “What has become of this generation?? God help them, please!!”

Kim also came under scrutiny as she looked unrecognizable while attending the scandalous baby shower. The actress, who wore minimal makeup, arrived hand in hand with her boyfriend and hairstylist, Mitch Stone.

The “Cool World” stars face looked wrinkle-free. She had donned a dark gray suit, a black button-up under the suit, and matching black dress shoes.

Although people said Irelands mom was cool for attending a strip club-themed baby shower, Irelands dad, Alec, was not among the attendees.

Ireland said her reason for holding the baby shower in a strip club was for people to have fun and feel less self-conscious.
