“Parents Protected Their Baby’s Privacy – Now, at Age 2, She Shines Bright”

Parents Took Special Steps for Their Daughter’s Future – Now, She’s Thriving at Age 2 Parents always want the best for their children, and for Celine Casey, that meant making an important decision for her daughter, Vienna Brookshaw. Born in April 2021 in the United Kingdom, Vienna had a unique birthmark on her forehead, known as congenital melanocytic nevus (CMN). While the birthmark was harmless to her health, her mother wanted to ensure that Vienna felt confident as she grew up.

CMN is a rare condition where a baby is born with an area of pigmented skin that may change over time. Although Vienna’s birthmark wasn’t medically concerning, her parents thought carefully about whether to seek treatment.

Making a Difficult Decision Celine Casey noticed that people often looked at her baby differently, which made her consider options for removal. While the National Health Service (NHS) did not classify the procedure as medically necessary, Casey and her family decided to explore other options.

Through a fundraising campaign, they received overwhelming support, raising thousands of dollars to help with the procedure. After undergoing multiple surgeries, Vienna’s birthmark was successfully removed, leaving only a small scar.
