Ice-T continues his long-standing role as Sergeant Odafin “Fin” Tutuola, Benson’s trusted second-in-command.
Known for his dedication to helping male survivors and his tenacious approach to police work, Fin is a respected figure within the squad. Ice-T’s impressive acting career spans over 100 credits, with standout roles in Surviving the Game, New Jack City, and Tank Girl.
3. Peter Scanavino as ADA Dominick “Sonny” Carisi Jr.
Peter Scanavino reprises his role as Assistant District Attorney Dominick “Sonny” Carisi Jr., bringing his signature calmness to intense situations.
Sonny, a former detective, is married to Amanda Rollins, making them the only married main characters in the franchise’s history. In Season 25, the squad celebrates the birth of Sonny and Amanda’s first child.
Scanavino is also known for his roles in Deception, Frances Ha, and The Cold Lands.
4. Octavio Pisano as Junior Detective Joe Velasco
Octavio Pisano returns as Junior Detective Joe Velasco, the second-youngest main cast member in SVU.
Velasco is known for his undercover work and his willingness to take risks during high-profile investigations. In Season 24, he faced scrutiny from Benson due to his aggressive interrogation methods, but this ultimately strengthened his bond with the team.

5. Kelli Giddish as Professor Amanda Rollins
Kelli Giddish makes a much-anticipated return as Professor Amanda Rollins, a former SVU detective turned Criminal Behavior professor at Fordham University.
Rollins is married to ADA Sonny Carisi, and her reappearance comes after her controversial departure in 2022. Speaking to Variety, Giddish explained, “It was just time for Rollins’ storyline to take this turn.”
Her involvement in Season 25 could be crucial, especially with Benson facing a major threat. Giddish is known for her work in Chase, All My Children, and Past Lives.
